Coach Maga has played at every level here in Canada with basketball taking him on travels all over North America, South America and Europe. One of the most decorated players in McMaster history, Steve Maga was a four-time OUA West All-Star, three-time All-Canadian and was awarded the Ivor Wynne Award as McMaster Male Athlete of the Year an unprecedented three straight years (1999, 2000 and 2001). Over his four year career, McMaster qualified for the CIS championship every year, winning the silver medal in 1998. Twice named OUA West Player of the Year (1999, 2001), Maga also was a four time all-star at the national tournament. He was a two time nominee (2000, 2001) for the Ken Shields Award for combining academic and athletic excellence with community service, and won the award in 2000. Maga capped off his career by being named the Mike Moser Award recipient as the outstanding player in Canada in 2001 In order to do so, he was able to train on his own; to do the proper drills for the proper amount of time in order to prepare himself for the grueling tryouts, practices and competitions. Scrimmaging and "Shooting Around" just isn't good enough if you truly desire to give your self the best opportunity in becoming the best basketball player you are capable of becoming. This is what he will share with you. He offers individual training sessions, as well as small group and team clinics. You dictate what the focus will be and he will come up with the drills and workouts to achieve your necessary improvements.
